Culture of thinking and cinema # 001. Problems

The scientific and technological revolution, which began in the second half of the 20th century, is having an ever-increasing impact on all spheres of human life and activity in the modern world.

Masters of scientific cinema - a large detachment of workers in Soviet cinema - are most often confronted with the social consequences of the scientific and technological revolution, but little effort has been made to study them - in all their complexity.

This happened, apparently, because the scientific and technological revolution created a revolutionary situation in the field of popularization of knowledge, unfortunately, not deeply realized by many other masters of this genre.

Not so long ago, the popularizers of science working in the cinema saw their duty primarily in acquainting the audience with the basics of science. The focus was on the transfer of knowledge, their transformation from a complex form into a simpler, more popular one. The authors of the film were able to talk about something extremely complex relatively clearly and intelligibly - it means they coped with the task, then their film deserves all approval ...

The scientific and technological revolution reevaluated many traditional phenomena; in scientific practice, fundamentally new situations arose for which the public consciousness was not properly prepared. What can the masters of popular science cinema do to help a person comprehend these new situations and overcome the conflicts that arise in reality?

We will try to consider some problems in the solution of which scientific films can play a certain role.

Scientists estimate that over the past fifty years, the time gap between major scientific discoveries and their implementation in production has narrowed sharply. If earlier this period was approximately 37 years, and a person could relatively easily learn the necessary knowledge and skills brought to life by a new discovery, now such changes occur every 9-14 years ...

And this means that throughout life, a person has to adapt three to four times to the following fundamental changes in production technology, consumption, life, information ...

Let us recall at least what processes have taken place over the past half century in cinematography: silent cinema, the appearance of color, sound cinema, television, now cassette cinema, the first holographic films have been created that threaten to introduce a new revolutionary situation into the entire process of film production. And if we add to this very significant changes in dramaturgy, visual arts, the overall style of the film, then we can see from our own experience that throughout the life of one generation the production experience, the system of knowledge, Skills, orientations that have developed over the past years, have been significantly transformed , and in many ways they are also depreciated ... https://m777live.com/
