Rust on the car: how and why, and most importantly - what to do?

Oh, that stain on the car, with its specific odor and staining, is a slow killer. Many people underestimate the consequences of rust in the car. Such a defect is preventable - but it's worth fighting it in advance.
Let's start with the basics. A rust stain is such an electrochemical destruction of the metal structure, in fact, the processes of rusting are oxidation. Surface molecules react with oxygen molecules in the air, producing iron oxide. Virtually all metals react to this and break down into iron oxide with other elements, just in different amounts of time. In cars from the 1970s, cars rusted as early as the dealership!
Let's discuss the first signs and problems - car complaints. First of all, with a rusted car or poor quality metal, rust can be seen in cracks or scratches. If the car is not all woven of bad coating elements, the problem can be fixed. In fact, this is the first stage.
But the penetration of "rust" deep into the steel structures is a more complicated matter. In manufacturing to prevent this, you can add nickel or chromium compounds to structures, these are so-called alloying elements, but in the end, recall, almost all metals are oxidized. It is important to know here that a dirty car will rust much faster than a clean one. Various reagents, with which a car interacts in winter, also contribute to this phenomenon. Finally, there comes the third stage: the car is openly rotting or rusting in visible areas.
The best prevention here is quite trivial - you need to regularly clean the car of dirt, and the underbody and the body should be cleaned at least once a year. A little more complicated: the drain holes should also be thoroughly inspected and cleaned.
The first stage of rust is not very harmful: here you are a year away from the third. Nevertheless, you need to get rid of it as soon as you find it. Start by applying sandpaper to remove layers of paint and corrosion.
For more severe cases, get a rust converter and prepare a brush with the toughest bristles (preferably metal). Then - prime and restore the paint.
But what if the rust forms whole holes? It's a bigger problem, but it can also be solved (or better yet, avoided). The rotted parts need to be "cut out" and quality patches of quality metal need to be welded in their place.
In most cases, frame rot (the extreme degree) cannot be repaired without a specialist.
